Eat, drink, be merry Opened in August 1998, the new restaurant area is the latest addition to the Chequers Pub. The old courtyard has been covered over to create a pleasant, light and airy room with the capacity to seat up to fifty people. As well as being featured in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide and Good Pub Food Guide, the Chequers has also been a regular winner of the Fullers Pub of the Year and even invited to be on the judging panel! Most recently, The Chequers has become one of just 500 pubs, whittled down from 50,000 throughout the country to be awarded the prestigious Cask Marque for outstanding cask beer quality.
